The focus of the camp this year was three fold:

1.  Focus instruction on the use of programming to create real tools.
2.  Focus on the recruitment and retention of girls in technology classes and areas of study.
3.  Help teachers and counselors develop strategies and best practices for the recruitment and retention of girls in technology related areas.

To this end the title of the project we used this summer was "Images and Stories of women in the Media- Pride-Power & Prejudice".  The girls created an online tool to create a community around positive and negative images of women seen in the media.  Through building the tool the girls learned object-oriented programming and CSS web design programming by using Flash and Dreamweaver.
